Fort Worth sits farther west than the rest of the metroplex, and that matters more than people expect. It's drier, dustier, windier, and slightly hotter in the afternoon — conditions that put condenser coils and outdoor electrical components under real stress.

Inside Loop 820 — Fairmount, Arlington Heights, Berkeley Place, Ryan Place — you find brick and frame homes from the 1910s–40s with retrofitted systems, small closets, tight attics, and ducts added decades after the house was built. Those homes need airflow work and often benefit from mini-splits for additions and upstairs rooms.
North Fort Worth and the Alliance corridor are the opposite: 2000s and 2010s two-story builds with tall ceilings, big west-facing glass, and builder-grade equipment that is now reaching the age where first replacements happen. Those homes need zoning attention and correct sizing much more than they need airflow rescue.
Tarrant County takes hail regularly, and condenser coils are exposed. A hail-dented coil looks cosmetic but restricts airflow across the fins, which shows up as reduced capacity and higher bills. We inspect and document coil damage after storms, which is often useful for an insurance claim.
If your system started underperforming after a spring storm, that's worth having looked at rather than assumed to be normal wear.
